Hi! Welcome to my site.

I was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany. With a mother who worked as a journalist and a father as a d.o.p. and photographer, my upbringing was quite influenced by the media world.

DJ-ing and filming my way through high school, I started an internship at Studio Hamburg. Quickly getting a grip on sound mixing I ended up as a sound engineer for live studio productions. After two years of working as one of the leading sound mixers for one of the largest sports shows "ran" I was ready for new grounds.
In 1994 I became a freelancer – working on the launch crew for VH-1, many other tv shows and countless commercial shoots.

In 1996 I was hired to build and manage a postproduction company from scratch. I switched to editing and motion design. Moving images became my passion. I edited commercials for Audi, Deutsche Telekom and many more. I did animations and on air design for numerous industrial films, documentaries and TV shows.

In 2000 I had the urge to learn more about directing and production. I needed a break from work anyway, so I went to the New York Film Academy for an intensive one-year film making class. Shoot a 16mm short and learned a lot.

In 2001 I founded my own post-production company with two fellow editors. We now own 8 AVID systems, graphic workstations and a color grading suite. The company called FERNSEHECKE is now over 20 years successfully in business. Adding IT administration, web design, programming and business administration to my skill set of editing, 2d/3d animation, vfx compositing, color grading and sound mixing. I can also pull focus if you need me to. I'm confident I have the tools for most jobs.
